Bank transfer
To make a bank transfer to a General Account, you will need to choose bank transfer as the payment method in your account. You will then receive a secure message with instructions, including our bank details. Please use your Vanguard account number as the payment reference.
The minimum bank transfer you can make to a General Account is £50,000.
It can take up to 2 business days for a bank transfer to clear. We’ll send you a message as soon as your payment has been received and the transaction is complete.
You cannot make a bank transfer for Pension, ISAs or Junior ISA accounts.
Monthly contributions (regular payments)
Direct Debit
You can set up a monthly Direct Debit with a verified bank account linked to your Vanguard account. Find out how to set up a monthly contribution.
Monthly contributions made via Direct Debit are subject to a clearance period of 2 full business days. During the clearance period, cash is treated as ‘unsettled’ and cannot be withdrawn, used for trading or earn interest. Once the clearance period has completed, cleared cash becomes available and any linked investment instructions will then be actioned.
If your Direct Debit collection date falls on a non-business day at tax year end, we’ll collect the payment on the next business day. Your contribution is allocated to the tax year in which the payment is successfully collected.
We do not accept payment by
- credit card
- cheque
- standing order
- Direct Debit from business accounts
- pre-paid cards
- Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal
